On May 18th, the Moses Lake Watershed Council and the Columbia Basin Conservation District along with their partner organizations brought the exciting play, 'Yarely' to schools in the Grant County area. The free one-hour musical comedy taught basic water science about blue-green algae and ways to prevent it in Moses Lake. 'Yarely' showcased local actors and musicians, and featured a pirate, mama nature, blue-green algae, and the star - a blue water drop named Yarely.
The Performances were held at five different schools in the Grant County area and reached 600 students. Thank you to Principal Colleen and the Quincy Innovation Academy, Principal Kelsey and the Almira Middle School, Principal Anna and the Wilson Creek School, Principal Jerred and the Royal City Middle School, and Principal Stevens and the Vanguard Academy for opening your schools to us so we could share the importance of preventing blue-green algae in Moses Lake.
